Although there are few who can guess which church bears the official name of the Cathedral Basilica of St Stanislaus the Bishop and Martyr and St Wenceslas, nearly everyone has heard of Wawel Cathedral
Royal Tombs
A row of crypts in Wawel’s Royal Cathedral is the only necropolis of its kind in Poland. Until 1533, the bodies of the monarchs were laid in sarcophagus tombs or under church floors.
Sigismund Bell
The most famous, though not the oldest, Polish bell was hung on the highest storey of the Sigismund Tower on 12th July 1521. It was named after King Sigismund the Old who commissioned it.
