Opened in 1889 as a city park by Dr Henryk Jordan, an advocate of sport for youth, the park was designed in the style of English landscape gardens with an irregular network of paths, flower beds, huge lawns, and a small pond. Boats, bikes, and electric cars can be rented on site.
Jordan Park is a very popular place for walks and practising sports. Within its perimeter one can find playgrounds, courts, cycle paths, and a ramp for skateboarders and rollerbladers. The trees of the park are very varied, with the 100-year-old elm and lime trees being particularly impressive. In the central part of the park there are 36 monuments to eminent Poles.
